Wolf painting. step-by-step process

 

(1) lightly sketch of wolf, foreground and background outlines

(2) up close you can see the different colored sections of fur are outlined too

(3)Border of wolf and foreground and all tree limbs are covered in masking fluid and allowed to dry

(4) After applying background wash with saran wrap effect and allowed to dry, mask is removed

(5) Foreground and tree is finely detailed

(6) Wolf is filled in and detailed with a fine paint brush

(7) Finished wolf up close
